WELCOME TO CALEDONIAN NETBALL CLUB

About Us:
Caledonian Netball Club was self-established in September 2004. Starting with one team of 7 players we now have 4 teams entered into the City of Edinburgh Netball Association (CENA) league. Our overall membership has risen to >40 players.

We now have two teams in Division 1 (well does Falcons for getting promoted last season!) a team in Division 3 and last season were proud to welcome a new Caley team who will play in Division 4 this season.

This season we are considering a fifth team focussing on development and integrating juniors into the senior club. Watch this space.

Training:
Caledonian Netball Club train at George Watson's College, 69 Colinton Road, EH10 5EG in the Galleon Sports Centre every Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm (or 7.30-9 every third week; rota tbc)

Games: Games this season are at a new Venue of Herriot Watt Sport's  Oriam complex (Just off the bypass at Hermiston)

Games are played on Sunday afternoons.

Trials:

Trials are held in August every year.

Teams:

Division 1:  Caledonian Hawks: Caledonian's original team started back in 2004, and is now called 'The Hawks'. With hard work and determination the Hawks worked their way through Division 2 & 3 and were promoted to the 1st division in 2006. The are now well established in Division 1and continue to hold their form with a number of 'old timers' and plenty of new faces each season.

Division 1: Caledonian Falcons: The 2006 season kicked off with a second team in tow, the Falcons. They were promoted to division 2 at the end of 2009/2010. At the end of the 2010 – 2011 the Falcons proved that they certainly belong in Division 2 of the CENA league and proved themselves in 2015/16 to earn promotion to Divison 1! Hawks watch out!

Division 3: We also have the Caledonian Eagles, Formed in 2011 the eagles have so far had mixed results from a mid table initial finish, their 2013/14 season and a number of injuries sent them to Division 4. This season they have come bounding back with a clean sweep of wins throughout their season to finish top of the league and earn a well deserved promotion back into division 3. Last season was tough in a strong Division 3 league. Eagles managed to hold their ground and are determined to finish higher up the table in 2016.

Division 4: Kestrels, our most recent addition of 'high flying birds' established 2015 and had a formidable first year finishing second in Division 5 earning promotion to Division 4 for 2016.  We look forward to them continuing their good form and working their way up the league!

Division ??: This year we are also consideration of a fifth team focussed on development. To be confirmed.

So whatever your level at Caledonian Netball Club there is a team to suit you! On and off the court we are a friendly and welcoming club where many long lasting friendships have been formed.

Every season brings new challenges and the teams get reformed as (sadly) players move on. However each season also see fresh new talent on the scene and everyone is re-assessed at trials to put together the best combination for each team. This usually results in a good combination of Caley 'veterans' and new talent in each team.

If you would to know more information about Caledonian Netball Email caleynetball@gmail.com

We would forward to welcoming you on court soon.

Kind Regards
The Caley Exec
